Let’s just start today’s post off with making one statement, I am old. I know people are like WTF?!?! NO YOU AREN’T! But after getting my 10 year college reunion invitation earlier this year, the fact that I was in my 30’s really hit. Back in college, I can now admit, I was a bit of a loser. I didn’t party too much, nothing excessive anyways, kept to my books and just stayed under the radar. And to be honest, I actually HATED my freshman year. I just hadn’t quite found my groove. My new found independence of living away from home was a bit of an adjustment to say the least. But by sophomore year, I found a fabulous group of girls that I clicked with and it made the next three years much easier! We have tried our best to stay in touch, but now with many of them married and some with 2 or more kids under their belts, it’s gotten hard to stay on top of each other’s daily lives. And unfortunately, things didn’t quite pan out and none of the old crew made it to the school’s official reunion back in June, but we did manage to get a few of us together this past weekend to reminisce and celebrate. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so hard! It was great to be able to have the ladies in one room bringing up some forgotten memories. We even broke out the old Facebook albums and looked at the horrifying outfits we thought were SO cute.. Seriously we went out in December in miniskirts and tank tops.. and FLIP FLOPS. I now bring a sweater with me even if it’s 90 out! Oh how times have changed. We ate, we drank and we got in some good ole fashioned girl talk and it was the perfect Saturday. Hoping we don’t have to wait another 10 years to do it again though. These ladies have morphed from fun, loving balls of fire, into mature, accomplished women who I am proud to call my friends.
